Greetings,
Having originally planned to migrate under the SIR visa to Adelaide, that plan cam unstuck when they changed the rules such that an IT ASCO needed a job offer before sponsorship could be sought. :( So...
I spoke to the company that I am currently working for in case they had any openings coming up. Lo and behold, the Oz IT director told me in January that they were willing to sponsor me under the ENS scheme, or at least put me through on a 457 to start with and sorting out the ENS once I was out there. :D And I have been waiting ever since. They are expecting me in September but the whole process seems to be getting held up at the HR department at the moment........so........
I went to Emigrate 2006 last weekend (found out loads of good stuff) and one of the stands was ACT Business Migration. After a quick chat they gave me a certificate saying that I qualified for STNI to ACT (I have already had my skills buttessed and been given an ASCO code 2231-13 by the ACS)
Now.......the questions !!!!
1. I have looked all over the DIMIA website and cannot find any reference to the ACT being part of the STNI scheme........do I simply apply for a 137 visa and specify that I have this certificate from the people at Emigrate 2006 ? 2. If my current employer's HR people finally get their finger out and nominate me, can I then cancel the 137 application and put in either an application under ENS or 457 ?
Any advice and-or pointers would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
