what to say...gone numb
Dear All, what to say but my Yahoo-Mail just delivered something enough to make me go numb. I have been granted the visa , YES I HAVE BEEN GRANTED VISA...!!! I feel like...

This is not professional advice (see my signature).

As you don't have a degree now it's going to get much harder:

1. you or your wife need to be 'send' to go down the general send sponsored route, sponsored by her aunt.

Hello We are using these as our agents, after meeting them at Sandown, I found her very nice...

2. The ACS has a Recognised Prior Learning process for those without formal IT qualifications, however you need 8 years professional IT experience unless you have a qualification equivalent to an Australian diploma in *any* discipline, in which case it reduces to 6 years. Do you have any formal qualifications?

3. Employer sponsorship is going to be easier said than done if you have no formal qualifications. Read migration booklet 5 and you'll see this.

If you've no formal qualifications at all, then really you need to clock up more IT experience, go through the ACS RPL and then look for either send sponsored migration or employer nomination at that stage.

Or get some formal qualifications in IT, either though night school or distance learning - if you were staying in the UK the Open University might be an option and there are equivalents in Australia. Be aware you will pay overseas fees.

A few points to bear in mind: 1. The reciprocal arrangement with the UK is limited cover only. And it's...

If you have an MCSE, MCSD, CLP or CNE designation you may be able to get an ACS buttessment within Group B if you act quickly - ACS currently treat these as equivalent to an Australian diploma in IT but are apparently going to withdraw this recognition very soon.

You may have other options (such as the 457 visa and switching to ENS that way after 2 years) but something like this is going to be really difficult and risky and you'd need to spend time with a competent lawyer-agent in Australia talking through the issues, which are complicated.

Lack of formal qualifications does unfortunately mean that certain doors in life remain closed.

Jeremy
