Hi Everyone
I've just found this forum, and have spent most of the afternoon reading past posts - which is not what I was meant to be doing, but never mind ;) I've been unable to find the answer to my question, so thought I'd post to see if anyone more experienced could help me.
I am a UK National, 24 years old & married with a child due in December 2005. I would like to emigrate to Australia within the next couple of years. I have completed some of the online Visa buttessments available, and they indicate that I am eligible for General Send Migration (125 points).
I currently work as a Motorbike Mechanic. I spent 2 years full-time at college to gain my qualification, and at this moment I have 6 months work experience in this trade. I had planned to start applying for my TRA Skills buttessment Visa Application in March 2006 (when I would have 12 months experience - The SOL details that 12months Work Experience is necessary for this trade, as it is also on the MODL). However I've been on the TRA website today, & it seems to suggest that a great deal more work experience is necessary for successful completion of the Skills buttessment (i.e. 4-5 years).
Could anyone advise me which timescale is correct? Also, is there a quicker method of gaining permanent residency over there if I do need 4-5 years work experience? (I don't know anyone in Australia, & my wife doesn't have an occupation which could be nominated).
Thanks in advance for all your help :)
