Hi Dejags,
Mick is applying for buttessment as a computer support technician - a job which normally requires a screwdriver - however your husband probably just works with his eyes glued to a computer screen if he's a network architect. ACS buttess occupations of IT professionals and TRA does the technicians. Sometimes people overstate or understate their situation and get it wrong, but if your husband is working as an "architect" he should be ok with ACS.
DIMIA eyes London based call centreThe Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) is looking to open a call centre based in London as a first contact for people...
Mick - I have to agree with Tony it's possibly a waste of time to be going to TRA if you've got an HNC. In many cases, and for spouse points certainly, it just doesn't matter which occupation you choose from the SOL for skills buttessment and you could have chosen to go to Vetbuttess which even offers an online buttessment procedure. All the Vetbuttess occupations on the SOL are buttessed at educational level, not content, so that a basic degree in any discipline enbreastles you to buttessment in any 50 point occupation on the SOL. Equally, having a diploma level qualification is always worth 40 points through Vetbuttess, irrespective of occupation.
However it's not a complete waste of time, since having a TRA certificate is of value in the labour environment here so if you're going to be in the same business here, it won't hurt.
Cheers,
George Lombard
