Hi,

Just came across this site a while back and am absolutely hooked ontoit.

Here goes.

I am writing to you from Mumbai, India.

I had filed in my papers to TRA for skills buttessment. My nominatedcatagory is on the MODL list. Last week someone from TRA called up myplace of employment for experience verificaton. However the person whoanswered the call was not the owner of the place, but an employee (Letscall him Mr X). The guy from TRA asked about me and everything wentallright except that instead of confirming my 8 years of contineouswork experience (I have not shifted jobs and have been working in thisplace for the last 8 years) Mr X said that he 'thinks' I have beenworking for about 4-5 years inthis place. This he said because he wasnot aware of my actual work experience. Now I am sweating. Cansomeone please advise me on the following points.

1) Is it not unfair on the part of TRA to not even ask to speak to theright person (in this case the owner) who would actually and best knowabout his employee's work experience and other details and rather speakto anyone who picks up the phone.

2) Mr X, who answered the TRA call, himself had joined our companyabout 4 years back. So without even knowing about my experience, hegave TRA half baked information. Admittedly, Mr X should have told theTRA chap that he is not in the loop about the work history of the otheremployee and should have asked the TRA fellow to speak to the ownerdirectly (the owner was not in the office at that point of time).

3) How would TRA take this whole issue. Mine is a straight forwardcase. But somehow Mr X's mistaken and ill-informed reply to TRA has metroubled. I was not expecting any problem with TRA buttessment but now Iam little worried.

I just want to know how will TRA view the the whole thing and am Iworrying too much? Would they be logical enough to understand thegoof-up if I were to send them a copy of this thread. I won't, but if Idid......
