Not so bad, you can have a nurse in there with you if you feel intimidated. To put you at ease let me say the wife was DREADING this part of the meds, and was even considering cancelling, when it came to it she said he proded her sides and tummy and just a quick feel for lumps on breasts and that was it over in literally seconds, she was more concerned he hurt her arm when taking blood afterwards!!! strange because when he did bloods on me he used the blood pressure cuff to pump my arm and then did it, I never felt a thing. Most important thing in my case was my BP was normal, it had been high on my last few GP visits and we had a ******* NIGHTMARE just before the meds, car almost ran outta gas on way making us divert and me hyper. Get there a min to spare only to find out at reception I forgot the photos!! so all 4 of us have to drive to Hitchin town looking for sainsburys with a photo-me booth. it is now school run time in the afternoon PLUS Hitchin has mad roadworks and everything is diverted and backed up..... now did you know I,m diabetic? well to get the magic "normal" readings of between 5-7 mml I had to inject pooloads of insulin about 4 times my usual AND skip eating from 9am that morning my estimates were that at 2.30pm I would be about 5mml, so we,re driving at 2.30pm instead of having bloods done and I test and dada bang on target, problem is though this target time is now and i,m gonna drop like a stone and have a hypo attack if it goes below 3mml, of course we are still nowhere near the clinic either. finaly get to the clinic, i,m getting tired and feeling crap test my blood sugar levels and I,m hypo 2.5mml ffs. could,nt let them test me while that low so had a bit of chocolate and waited 20 mins while the others were done, 20mins later the chocolate has raised my sugar levels up to 6mml, sweet lol. Get the bloods done at last, and as I said after all that my BP was normal!. Talk about making things diffucult for myself.
