Hello to all those waiting,
I was asked to give an update by those still in the process of getting their visas, so here goes.
We have been here in Brisbane 8 weeks now, I would highly recommend a stop over in Singapore, cheap as chips and some nice places to visit.
We lived in Wellington Point for the first few weeks, nice if you like the quiet life and being close to the water (no real beaches though). We moved a bit closer into town while I was searching for work. Got a job after 5 weeks thankfully as we were close to burning some serious cash!
The real bonus has been the location to the Gold and Sunshine coast, weekends at the beach - marvelous! The people are friendly and genuine but you still get the rough with the smooth as anywhere. I love it, my wife is a bit homesick but I'm sure she will settle (fingers crossed!).
We had the kids (7 and 9) into school within two weeks of being here, school seems excellent, public but with a private feel. They are both well chuffed to be having another summer break as you can imagine! Our gear is supposed to arrive next week just in time for Chrimbo.
