Visa in Oz for doctors..Lets discuss and help.. Sender: dr_jan

Hi everybody

I must say..this is an awesome forum...Well I was searching for a forum like this only where I could find medical people interacting for PR-457...

I always thought doctors are dumb enough like me to use the online forums ..!!! Not anymore..

Well, as of now my goal is to settle in Aus..translating into getting a PR visa. I am still in the process of undergoing the AMC Certification procedure..I dont know how long have is it going to take as I have just entered the race...My timelines...

2004 Jan: Cleared medical graduation from India. Work Ex: 18 months in all ( including internship).. Sep 2005: IELTS Academic Cleared Mar 2006: AMC Part 1 cleared July 2006: Got a job in Australia.. Currently: Going through the visa roller coaster.. --------------------------------------------------- Dec 2006 : Would be starting the job. March 2007: Would be giving AMC Part 2. Dec 2007 : Planning to apply for unconditional registration. --------------------------------------------------- Now the real question...I understand that for getting those 60 points I need to get a positive skill buttessment from a medical board. For that I need to get general-unconditional registration.

Could anybody advice me that 18 months of post MBBS experience from India + 12 months job in Oz( HMO1 + 2 scale)..Will it account to bypbutt the period of 1 year of supervised training and will give me the unconditional registration..

Also to tell I am 24 now..so can get those under 30 points for long..

This is the best possible way I could decipher from the DIMA maze of getting the 120 points..

Could anybody suggest an even shorter method to do so..Is there anyway I can get those 120 points earlier or I have to wait till Dec 2007.

I read it somewhere on the forum all doctors can get Medical Administrator positive skill buttessment...Some people have also got positive skill buttessment even without AMC...Are these all rumours or is there any truth in that..

Any advice-discussion on this topic will be appreciated...
