Hi there,
My family and I have successfully secured a PR Visa and are due to fly out to Perth in September to live. Now my Parents have decided that also want to emigrate out there with us, but due to the changes introduced with the Investor Retirement Visa they`re only means of obtaining PR (through Contributory Parent Visa) is through my sponsorship. I believe that i can only sponsor them after i have been resident in Australia for 2 years. Does anyone know, or have experienced, whether or not there is flexibility with the 2 years rule?
If they do have two wait 2 years before we can begin they`re Contributory Parent Visa application, are there any other Visa`s (but not the painful Investor Retirement Visa) for which they could spend time (say 6-12 months) in Australia to help reduce they`re wait.
BTW - They do appear to fulfill all of the criteria of the Contributory Parent Visa, its simply the 2yr timeframe (plus the time it takes for the application to be processed) for which we are trying to minimise.
Hope the above makes sense.
Any help-advice-experiences would be very welcome.
