There is a good number of .NET positions out their, I would say mainly c# but there are also a good number of VB.NET. A alot of companies who Leader roles for $65K (which is low) but these types of company tend to be small. Others advertise around the 70K 80K for very good developer(s) who have expeirence (Commercial) in a number of different fields. I am over to OZ back in 2003 and started on a low salary so I could get some experiance with Australian companies (looks better on resume) (70K), If I was earning the same as I was in the UK I would be earning $108K Perm + Super (which is very good). It's hard to get into a large company over here (same the with UK) as there are alot of developer(s) over here that are very good.
You will also find that alot of developer(s) out here in Sydney are crap, I mean crap, they say on the resume that they have done and that, looks really good so you have an interview with them only to find out that they don't understand .NET
