Thank you for replying to me, I was starting to think that I wouldn't get a response. I sent an email to the home office and they definately told me the only legal way to migrate to Australia is to apply for our visa in the UK - so that answers one question in my mind.
I thought your suggested alternative was a great idea, in fact, I think that might be the way for us to go. I might try and get my husband in to get his medicals done this week, and then we could possible send our application off in a couple weeks time, with a covering note that the police check will be sent on.
Here is the most worrying question I have though. We are in a very tight financial situation at the moment, and after we pay for medicals and the application fee - the bank balance will be very very low - does anyone know if this has implications on an application being approved???
We have buttets (house and car) and some Australian funds in Australia, do you think this may help?
