Second Stage Spouse Visa Sender: northshorepom
Hi Guys Looking for a bit of advice. I was granted my 2 year temporary visa in July 2005, and my wife and since then my wife and I have been renting a room...

Well just wanted to share with anyone that cared... I got my visa through today. I have been stressing out for the last two weeks because my case officer told me my medicals had been referred to Sydney. I was worried about what this meant (as anyone who read the threads about medicals being referred to Sydney would know), and I was counting down the days. Basically my visa application went to my migration agent on 6th July, the meds were then sent to my case officer on 16th July and she told me that they'd been referred to Sydney on 18th. I was then told that it should take around 2 weeks.. well, it's been 13 days.. and my pbuttport just showed up this morning with the visa in it!!! Then I had an email about an hour or so afterwards saying that my visa had been granted! Couldn't bloody believe it, not sure it's really sunk in yet either. I was applying for an interdependency visa off shore (went through the London office) and I got permanent residency this morning! Yippppeeeeee. Now we have to validate before 11th July 2007, which is great as we're not planning to move until June 2007 anyway. For those of you still waiting, good luck and I know how stressful it can be. It's worth it though. We used Lorraine Beaumont at Go Matilda, who was absolutely brilliant. Tracy

SIR Visaholders Shortcuts to Permanent Residency
Just off the top of my head and all based on two people. Cost to apply $1500 (don't know if both have to lodge separate apps). Tickets to where ever $1000. Car rental...
