I'm sorry to hear of your probs, we've both been going through this process for a long time haven't we.
Well, i know the AoS is based on historical evidence in the form of previous tax returns, but also a need to provide evidence of current salary in the form of wage slips or employer's letter I buttume.
If they're made redundant before the interview that would cause a major hbuttle for you. If afterwards then, that can happen to anyone, but there may be something on the form or in the interview to make them declare it.
Even if they could act as a second butturer, which I am not sure of, they would be jointly and severely liable for any costs incurred, so why couldn't you just get the stand in 1st asurer to do the lot???
We've just completed the AoS process, my father has just lodged bond, just got to wait for DIMIA's decision. Here's hoping.
good luck with sorting it out.
I'd try to get your family in Australia to find another butturer, and get some good literature to convince them it 'shouldn't' cost them a penny. You could always provide a lump sum which you could use to convince them that you can afford to pay any costs during the 2 years butturance and can support yourselves financially
