Don't know any sols in Cardiff who would definitely do it. However, "Neighbourhood Law Centre" type places will generally do it, and might even do it for free or for a small donation.
Most solicitors won't charge more than a fiver a document, and some will just charge a job-lot fee (which is often a lot cheaper for you.)
The reason for the reluctance to do it is because the solicitor's time is worth around å£200 an hour in the provinces these days (and more like å£500 or more per hour in the top firms in the City of London.) So to tie a solicitor up for half an hour, certifying a whole stack of documents, simply isn't profitable from his or her point of view.
Best thing is to bypbutt the dragons on the reception and switchboard. Ask for one of the Partners, and when asked why, say is is a "Family matter." Make it clear that you are not prepared to discuss this private 'family matter' with anyone short of a solicitor. Once you get the solicitor on the phone, wheedle! They usually respond sympathetically to a bit of wheedling, you'll find.
Also - or alternatively - ask your local Citizens Advice Bureau for help. They work closely with a lot of local solicitors, know them personally and can usually drag a few favours out of them for you.
Plus try the Court. Some will do it, some won't, but the ones which will do it usually do it for free.
Hope this helps
