Dear JAJ and others thanks for all the support sofar. The news about possible change to aus residency requirement to get aus citizenship is not surprising one but really dissappointing one to us personally. We planned to move for good in mid 2006 and stay for 2 years to apply for the aus citizenship. Pur PR is valid until 2008 Nov. So we thought of moving in mid of 2006 was safe for everything. but if they introduce the change legislation before 2008, then we will be affected like others too, but we hope it wont be so soon!!!!. Any way even they introduce that we thought we can get 5 year RRV and again stay for another 2 more years to complete the 4 year!!! requirement for the citizenship. We hope at least some flexible thing will be there. But if they change 2 yrs to 4 yrs requirement for citizenship then they must consider introducing higher studies facilities to PR holders once again as it was before. Waiting for 4 years to start a study is not fair decision at all!!! I hope all will agree on this. I am really waiting for the day to start my masters once arrived in 2006. mmmm.....chances look dim now!!!!. But no one will be aginst for more strict background checks as it deems necessary at this juncture!! (some one spoils every ones chances!!!!).
I hope Aus Govt. will take a good!!! decision in this regard (RRV, Citizenship and HECS higherstudy loan)
