Hiya
Looking for some rebutturance.....
My husband and I applied for AFP clearances 2 months ago. Having only spent 12 months in oz, in one state, at one address, as law abiding citizens, we'd hoped ours would be a simple, straightforward case.
As hoped, one clearance came through after 10 days, the other one presumably stuck in the good ole royal mail, oh dear.
After waiting the suggested 30 days we contacted the criminal records dept, who promptly confirmed it was in the very final stages of processing and would be with us in a week.
A week went by, another call, another confirmation of imminent clearance. More weeks, more rebutturances. Each point of contact has been prompt and friendly. Unfortunately we are still without the vital piece of paper.
Our last email recieved a generic reply stating that new applications are being completed within 7 days of receipt, ouch
If we truly believed the clearance was a week away we could relax but we have had so many let downs we are becoming disillusioned with the process.
Has anybody had similar experiences? (preferably with a happy ending)
