Can I please start my reply by saying I am not a panel doctor! But I suppose the answer is.... it depends. If you have any ongoing health issues or serious...

I am a 3rd (final) year sports student in the UK, i am currently in a serious relationship with my Australian Partner, and have been since May 2005. We are living together, however only my name appears on the rental agrement. We have had a joint bank account since May also. We met in january 2005, and kept in touch via phone, e-mail and letter from jan to may as she moved back to australia before moving back to bne with me in the UK.

We plan to get engaged over easter 2006, and eventually move over to australia in June 2006

We are currently trying to look at the best options available to make my emigration possible.

Currently we have thought about using a 12 month WHV, and then applying for either a prospective spouse visa or a spouse visa (dependant upon the situation at the time). We would be looking to marry in January-February 2007.

Unfortunately, some people simply do not qualify to migrate. Either their skills or family connections do not meet the standard, or...

We have also looked into the send migrant visa, but i fear my being a student has not given me sufficiant expariance in any actual employable skills to consider this a viable option as i have not been in full time work at any point in the past 2 years for any longer than maybe 6 weeks this summer just gone.

Upon moving to australia i would be looking to become an apprentice chef somewhere along the gold coast? We are taking a 7 week holiday this november, december and january over in australia visiting her relatives, and using it as an opportunity to check out the potential job prospects available to myself when i do get to move over there in what we both hope to be the very near future

Any help and advise in relation to this would be most appreciated, as we both are slightly confused and scared of getting an application wrong, and us not being able to be together..
