My wife is taking a nursing diploma at the moment, she will pbutt in Jan 2007 and we want to go to Queensland.
we will not be able to meet the GSM requirements (12 months work experience) or the points test without ajob offer.
one alternative is to apply for the "skills matching visa" after 6 months, but how much input is required from the emplyer (QLD health) as according to QLD gov. they only use the SIR visa wich will only give us a 457 temp visa.
secondly we could wait the 12 months and apply under GSM but we would still need a job offer to qualify under the points system and is an employer going to make that offer having to wait maybe 9 to 12 months for the visa to be granted?
Another alternative is for her to apply under the graduate recruitment scheme with QLD health. This we could do almost immediately she pbuttes her diploma, but would also only result in a 457 visa.

Also, if we go to QLD on a 457 temp visa, is it possible to shorten the 2 years requirement by applying for another, PR type, visa after a year, as by then we would be able to satisfy the requirements of other types of visa, possibly even the GSM visa, even if we had to fly offshore when it was actually granted
Any help with this dilema would be greatly appreciated
