hi all, need some advice from those in the know. my son will be 18 in october 2006. our visa was sent this october and we decided to have our medicals done before requested.
the medical showed a problem with my sons heart and he needs to have an MRI done. there is a 7 month waiting time for this which means it will be done around july 2006. obviously we will then have to wait for the report on that and then wait for DIMIA to make a decision on that report etc etc.
the visa may well be granted before he is 18 but my concern is that the visa may end up being granted after he has turned 18.
when my son left school he started working as he did not want to start a course at college and have to leave half way through a course and end up with nothing to show for it. so technically he is not dependent.
so if the visa is granted after he has turned 18 will i have to prove he is dependent on us. if so what information do you have to provide and for how far back, time wise. i'm worried that he will have to stop working and go to college just to prove his dependence.
any advice welcome. selina
