Welcome to Phoenix.
I had a spare ear of corn, and some fat shrimps, so the grill got an buttist from the weather.
I still had a tablespoon of that chile-rub I made the other day, so I mixed it with the juice of half a lime and a teaspoon of evoo.
The peeled shrimps brined in a seawater-tasting bath for an hour while the corn soaked in fresh water.
I transferred the shrimp to the marinade, and the corn to the grill, which was set to medium and had the cover closed.
I rolled the corn every few minutes to give the outside an even sear, then at the ten-minute mark moved it up to the "warming" basket that hangs under the lid. It's pretty hot up there, it's just not searing-hot, so that's a good place to leave the corn without fussing over it.
When the corn was about 5 minutes from done, I placed the shrimp - now packed tight onto a skewer, on the grill.

2 minutes later, I flipped it. 2 minutes later, I plated it, and brought it and the corn inside.
I shucked the corn and chopped off the stalk.
And then the fun began.
