Hey Kathy, add a few slices of vine ripened tomatoes to that sandwich.... awesome!
Oh my.... flashback time!

Circa 1991 - just moved in to our new (albeit 4th hand) house with pool. Somehow slipped (wearing chinese safety boots, aka thongs, and came a cropper) and ended up with a VERY jiggered, although thankfully not broken, ankle. Was bedridden for nearly five days and on crutches for a further five.* My parents came to the rescue and spirited away the less-evil twin (Jess), leaving Graeme (husband) to buttume role of house-husband to son (Angus) for a week or so. Graeme asked Angus what he fancied for dinner one night and son replied "Tomato soup and toast!" Time rolled on, soup was prepared (in microwave), son called to table for his dinner. "Daddy, I don't like this soup...." "Eat your dinner, it's the same Mum makes!" "NO IT'S NOT!" "YES (deleted) IT IS!"
Drag self out of bed, and on crutches navigate long hallway. See son at table, misty eyed, clearly NOT enjoying his repast. One look at his bowl tells me why.
To Graeme, "Did you by chance read the label on the can?" Reply "What's the deal? Soup is soup! Into a bowl. Heat. Serve. Not that difficult! Go back to bed, it's under control!" sigh....... "It's condensed soup. You didn't add milk (or water) that's why he won't eat it"
"SEE DAD, I TOLD YOU IT WASN'T LIKE MUM'S SOUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Still cracks me up to this day! Mind you, should add that G has an IQ through the roof (put me well to shame) but has not ventured back into the kitchen for nigh on 15 years. NO JOKE! Last time was to bake (at kids request) a birthday cake for me (Jess read out the instructions on the packet!!)
Sorry to digress, but it was just one of THOSE moments... thought you might enjoy....
LadyJane -- "Never trust a skinny cook!" (Which G certainly would be, were it not for my cooking for 29 odd years)
