I don't necessarily find the list particularly interesting or attractive, though some of the things listed certainly are. Like you, I have done several on the list, as well as others that are not exactly as specified. Is it a game of one-upmanship? ;-)
- Made toast as described but not on the Aga.
- Dismembered chicken (why is it something special?).
- Eaten lunch at Le Grand VZfour three or four times over the years.
- Boiled and otherwise cooked a freshly-laid egg, though not from a self-raised hen.
- Picked and cooked my own mushrooms hundreds of times.
Video recorders was: Shoebox CommercialI certainly hope you went to the videohelp forum and applied the latest firmware and drive updates, along with the hack that disables Macrovision protection. If you're not on...
- Never eaten those Sicilian ices but wonder if they can possibly be superior to those I have eaten at Giolitti in Rome and at Berthillon in Paris.
OT: Shoebox CommercialNuh-uh. They're still using it. The radio at the gym is tuned to the new JACK station (which replaced ARROW) and every freakin' morning while...
- Eaten the first, fresh-picked white asparagus in Germany. British asparagus... feh!
- Cooked for by a legend? Sure, how about Fredy Girardet or Jo'l Robuchon? Marco Pierre White pales a bit in comparison, I'd say. And he is not the (modern) world's first and best enfant terrible, either - that is still Nico Ladenis.
- Eaten chocolate cake at the Hotel Sacher and the Hotel Imperial in Vienna... didn't like either of 'em.
- Drunk DRC wines several times at tastings... they are truly great but I wouldn't dream of paying £250 for a bottle.
- Drunk coffee at CaffZ Florian a couple of times.
- As a child, stuffed myself with various and sundry kinds of caviar including that from albino sturgeon too many times to remember.
- Milked a cow once when I was a child. Not easy for someone with no experience. Why is this on the list, anyway?
