These are pics of some of the nicest - looking catering in the air. Ghana International Airlines flies out of Baltimore to Accra if any of you are interested. This airline is the successor to the old corrupt and horrible state - owned Ghana Airways, which slumped into bankruptcy.

Some pbuttenger reviews, all very favorable:

I detest turkey in all forms, so have never been able to choke down a turkey burger. However, I was interested in limiting beef in my diet since I've been on...

In perusing the airlinemeals.net site I am always impressed by the standard of catering on some of the Asian and "Third World" carriers. Some of the new Indian, etc. airlines will ply you with a full hot meal in economy on an hour's flight. Heck, even Iran Air has copious amounts of food...

Meanwhile "First World" carriers such as Scandinavian Airlines have gone the total budget route, they'll charge you for everything except water on their shorter flights, a meazly sandwich will set you back 5 - 10 Euros (US carriers do this too). "Breakfast" on long - haul flights will be a crummy little croissant - wich thrown at you from a basket...

This is quite a change from years ago. When I flew Scandinavian to Copenhagen in the 70's we economy pbuttengers got hot towel service and we had the option of choosing "Janson's Temptation" as a pre - dinner appetizer...

I also flew TWA, Lufthansa, Swissair, and British Airways transatlantic in that era. Everyone got a printed menu from to choose their entrees...the food was palatable, the breakfasts were hot. I flew Continental once from Chicago to LA and the DC - 10 had a piano bar with free drinks and peanuts, etc....

Fares are drastically cheaper these daze so I suppose that is the trade - off...
