Busy day here. I made the 3 mushroom soup earlier and it was an excellent lunch with a small salad, viniagrette dressing and a baguette with herbed butter. We had my former bosses over and then we all went to an auction at Selkirk's. There was a Chippendale sofa I wanted so bad. I can't fit another stick of furniture in here, but I bid a few times on it anyway. The sofa was extremely well built and sound but needed reupholstered. It went well over what I wanted to spend on it so I didn't get it.
Pie and chips"!! Those GAY Brits!!! 2866Well....... DUH!!! Is the most used language on the planet 'American'...... or English?? Go buy a pie and chips, and find out for yourself. I really wish these...
Neither of us is real hungry and we decided to just snack a bit. The recipe below is really easy to make. I don't recall exactly where I found it, or if I made it up on my own, but it is very tasty. It's for a salsa. I've got deep fried tortilla chips draining on paper towels. Steven is going to snack on cheese and crackers and has a giant sausage of some kind (he bought it at work from someone that was selling stuff for their kid's little league team).
Repost was A Snacky Night & RecipeHi damamasan, I posted the recipe a few days ago but still have it handy. It's posted below. You can still Google it using the keywords: Triple Mushroom Soup. There are hundreds of recipes for...
Green Chile Salsa:
1/2 pound Tomatillo, husked and boiled 6 whole jalapeno chiles, stems removed and boiled 1/2 cup sugar Salt to taste (I use sea salt or kosher salt)
*note - this is a salsa I serve over tamales and enchiladas. For dipping with chips I also add a small diced tomato and some sliced green onion but the salsa is good as is. You can adjust the heat with more or different chiles or hot sauce.
Boil jalapeno chiles (also good roasted instead of boiled) and tomatillos separately and then drain water from both. Put chiles and tomatillos in a blender and blend until smooth, add sugar and season with salt, to taste. At this point if you use tomatoes and/or onion add them in and combine. You can serve over tamales or enchiladas or dip chips.
