StrawberryRhubarb pie alternative
Penzey's has a S-R cobbler recipe on their site - might be an easier pie alternative... Sorry if it looks like garbage...

food for a car trip
Not everyone travels a lot. Not everyone can, what with work, school and so forth. I like to...

Calphalon and All-Clad typically run that much for one pot. Or more, depending on the pot. So does Le Crueset.

And some of those pots are worth it. I am one that sticks up for All-Clad: they have served me well over the last 20 years and I expect them to last the rest of my life and beyond. However, I did get them on sale or at a steep discount when I did get them... But the pots do typically run that much.

Le Crueset is also very hardy. I get those again at a discount when Le Crueset has their semi-annual sales in July and December, AND I get them at their outlet stores. Still not cheap though. The last pot I got was what they call a risotto pot, and I got it for $70, which was a steep discount, down from $180 or more. It was an irregular too, but I couldn't see the defect.

So yes...many top of the line pots do cost that much, even on sale.

I am hearing good things these days about Sitram, which is made in France and has a much lower price tag. It has been used in professional kitchens for a long time, from what I have read.
