Litttle Malice oh, you have my sympathy! Just keep in mind that a puppy's jaw grows until he is...

Could he tell the difference between the beef nuckle and human knucles? This is important I think.

Thank you all for the information about Labs. They are a little big for my yard anyway, but it just adds to my knowledge. My last kitty was put to sleep 3 weeks ago at age 20 and I am very lonely at the moment. I will eventually get more cats but I haven't had a dog for the last 8 years. I suspect I will get another terrier as I love them. I had a Cocker Spaniel (English) but all my other dogs have been terrier mixes. I suppose I will go to the Humane Society and find a lovely terrier mix.

Dear Terry, I commend you for taking care of an abused doggie. It is difficult sometimes. My last dog was horrendously abused and it took a long time to get her to not cringe at every movement. I think the best medicine for her were my cats. She loved playing with them and having the herding genes she spent hours trying to corral them. Eventually she was a very calm dog except at feeding time. Evedentally, she was damaged by not being able to eat regularly as a puppy. Until the day she died, she guarded her dinner dish with great ferocity. Or rather a display of ferocity. I could pick her up and love her during her eating and never a nip or growl.until I set her down by her bowl again. I detest the people who messed her up so much! Our best guess is that she was a Yorkie-Scottie mix.

I have never had an animal who was not loving and eager to please. My Spaniel was a very grumpy dog as she got older, but I understand that it is normal for Cockers. She loved to swim! I always had to watch her when we were near fishermen! I had a large grey male cat who was about 24 lbs. at his biggest. No fat. All muscle. He did not like dogs coming in to his yard. He sent a wandering German Shepard to the Vet for stitching, blood infusion and other care! He got along well with my dogs though. He was, to me, a very loving cat. After him I had, and hope to have forever, calico cats. My favorite cat of all time, we all have a favorite, was a feral cat that I tamed over a period of months. She always slept on my pillow and washed my hair thouroughly every night. Unfortunately she died too early of feline leucemia that she had gotten before I took her in. For a long time, I missed her purring me to sleep at night. After my wife died, her cat and I naturally became closer. When she stopped sleeping with me with her comforting purr I knew she was ill. She was better then worse then better for a year. She finally reached the end 3 weeks ago and I had her put to sleep. She reached 20 years which is not too bad, but still..... The house is very quiet now. I haven't been without a furry friend since I was in 5th grade.---about 100 years ago.

To anyone who has read this far, I apologize! I tend to go on and on sometimes. I will eventually fill my house with dogs and cats and all will be well. I am just going to take this time to travel without worring about my fur friends. I give it about 4 months!
