I never liked their food, but once in a while I stopped by their drive through for a cold drink. One night I was on the way back to the office after an afternoon shift on a hot summer night and had a craving for a shake so I went to the McDs driver through and ordered a shake. I was told that the machine was out of service. When I got back to the office a co-worker told me they do that at night because they have to wash it and don't want to get it dirty again.

A few weeks later I tried again. It was about 1 am and I really needed something cold and refreshing. This time I was on my way home. There was one car ahead of me at the drive thru. I get up to the speaker ready for the broken machine routine but was told to pull ahead. I don't know what the guys ahead of me ordered, but it was 12 minutes before I got up to the window and by that time I am really looking forward to something cold and soothing. "I'm sorry sir, but the milkshake machine is out of service." I hit the rook. The bastards..... leave me waiting out there and too stupid to tell me earlier... though I was ready to question that excuse. As close as I can figure, that was 15 years ago. The only time I have been in a McDs since then, except for one very hot Sunday afternoon in a town in German and it was the only place open, and all I got was a Coke.
