Christmas on New Year's Day

Kidzilla and crew are coming over tomorrow for a belated Christmas. We've trashed all the candymaking with the exception of some Fantasy Fudge. There will also be a sour cream apple pie and possibly some Seven Layer Bars.

We got little tiny buns at the grocery store. We're slicing what's left of the rotisseried ham to go on them. Also slicing some cheddar cheese (boy, I hope that meat slicer works!) Found a person deal on a huge ring of shrimp with chickentail sauce in the middle.

Side dishes will be my dilled potato salad, Bush's baked beans (we usually get the frozen Captain Ken's beans, but we went to the wrong store), and I think that's it.

A Hot and Happy New Year and recipe request
Well, if the website I consulted was correct it's now 2006 almost everywhere in the world. I think Hawaii, Tahiti...

I'll stick with plain ham and lots of shrimp. There *will* be a forkful of the pie, and there *will* be a forkful of the potato salad.

Oh! I almost forgot. I got a 20 piece set of stoneware Christmas dishes at the thrift shop this afternoon. US$9.99 with 75% off because it's a Christmas item. I walked out of there with this huge box of dishes for $2.66, including tax. 'Course, it's not a complete set or anything, but it'll add a little pizzaz to tomorrow's buffet.

We haven't wrapped gift yet. This is going to be a long, long night.

Happy New Year, everyone! Carol
