FauxPseudo wrote about his duck:

I'd braise them with the rice: In an oven-safe skillet with a lid, heat a bit of butter over medium-high heat. When the butter is hot, add the duck legs, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and roll them around for about five minutes. Remove the duck from the pan and add chopped onions and chopped carrots. Cook until the vegetables begin to color, then deglaze with the flavorful liquid of your choice: Any kind of tea (Lapsang Souchong or Earl Grey would be especially good), orange juice, Madeira, red wine, or white wine would work. Scrape up all the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Estimate how much liquid you've got in the pan, then add enough water to make a two-parts-water to one-part-wild-rice ratio. Add the rice to the pan (fresh or dried mushrooms would be another good thing to add at this point, as would toasted hazelnuts or pine nuts). Also add more salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then add the duck legs. Remove from the heat, cover, and put into a 300-degree oven for about an hour.
