I don't understand the popularity of Ethiopian food, i have eaten at the Blue Nile, and Addis and would just as soon go to Flint's for some good BBQ, or the "smoke house" burger place just up the street from Addis, but also on Telegraph, not far (a couple of blocks) from the Blue Nile is the Drunken Boat (La Bateau Ivre) across the street from Andronicos on Telegraph, also Norikonoko (sp?) a small Japanese restaurant on Tele in the complex called 'The Village" about half a block south of the Blue nile i would recommend. And of course Larry Blake's is usually very good with a changing menu of daily specials and a number of good stand bys, full bar, live music in the basement.
For something casual but very good you might try the lamb burger at Bongo Burgers 1-2 block east of Telegraph at Dwight, next door to Shakespeare's book store. There's also a very good Pita place on Durant just off Tele to the east, can't recall its name but it is right next door to the bank of america on Durant.
East Bay Ethiopian was Tonight's sandwiches 2031notbob Yes, that "bread" less said about that the better. Also at the blue nile i was treated rather contemptuously when i asked for eating utensils, the waitress picked up my "bread" wrapped...
Henrys at the hotel Durant is a nice place with decent food in a quite sit down type dining room or meals can be taken at the hotel bar, the hotel is on Durant across from the PFA museum entrance on Durant about 3 blocks east of Telegraph --- JL.
