They had their chance to impress me. They didn't. The meal was hot. It was not very tasty. Perhaps other Macedonians could have done a better job. Maybe a different dish would have been better. All I know is that I tried something new and interesting sounding that turned out not to be very good, not a style of cooking or use of flavours that I would be interested in pursuing.

You go to restaurants based on reviews? What sort of media was it that recommended the place. I have seen "reviews" of restaurants in student newspapers. They impressed me when I was a student.
It stank? I used to work with a guy who would not go to Indian restaurants because he thought they stank. It turned out that what he meant was they smelled of curry. He considered that a stink. I think of it as an aroma.
You judge the food on the basis of the atbreastude of the server?
