shortbread resultsThe other Kathy posted a recipe for shortbread the other day, and I gave my (similar) recipe in reply. Today I made my shortbread but the mixture seemed much drier than I...
I usually only go to one holiday party at work. It used to be that each department in my unit would have a separate party. Now, the new CIO likes to have a huge bash; maybe 200 people. This has been the same deal for the past three years and its a lot of fun.
Oh gawd strange soupWell, at that time of my life I had not eaten any ethnic (except my own ethnic group) foods. I was only 3 years from my first pizza...
Our holiday party this year is on Monday, so I can't comment on the menu yet. If the menu is the same as last year, it'll be great. Buffet style; of course. I played "Stana Clause." which I will do today if the CIO's office manager can come through with a Santa costume like she did last year! Last year, we had some sort of baked chicken, baked ziti, wine, cheese, soft drinks, and lots of desserts, which I hardly touched. The woman who arranges these parties told me that this year's menu will be the same. We also have a collection of hats and gloves for a local charity at this party, so I have to go out and buy some this weekend.
This year's holiday season is hectic, because most of the people in my office suite are moving to a new building and they're busy packing. The movers are supposed to start moving stuff on Monday which is the same day as the holiday party so my office is very hectic lately for this time of year, plus I have been busy showing one of my apprentices how to do a DR recover one of our email servers and I really hope to do it again this week. I also have to start packing up everything in my office on Monday. Although I am not moving, I have to vacate my office for a day or two so it can get new carpet and paint (FINALLY!), plus I am gearing up for a two week vacation at the beginning of January, which I am very excited about!
