No, for most of mankind's history, mankind ate everything it had in front of it then spent the next several...

I just posted some numbers further up.

There's no official RDA for cholesterol (the data that say it's bad say it's bad in any quantity; other data say that dietary cholesterol is irrelevant to health) though some sites quote the government's old 300 mg number.

So 1000% is accurate.

100 grams is 3.5 ounces, maybe 10 decent bites. So you're getting your daily limit in every bite.

I just rewatched it. It's a good show. But I would have to bet that the brain sandwich Alton got wasn't typical. It was just too fat.

Which makes me reconsider those numbers. That sandwich was way over 100 grams of meat. Probably half a pound or more. So double or triple the cholesterol content. If he finished that, Alton took in "enough" cholesterol for his entire crew for several days.

He's not looking too thin here in the first place, and he's chowing down on "southern" food in family-style quantities. I'm surprised this "Super-Size Me" diet didn't leave him on the road face-down by the end of the month, but it couldn't have, because they've clearly done some post-production with his voice in it...

His next gig had better be about eating five 400-calorie tour, or there won't be a sequel.

Nah, he's been stopping at places and buying the whole trip. I'd have been fine if he'd said "We're not going to go into the boring little snack bar and tourist trinket shop...
