Food Snob
Cheryl Perkins I didn't know that it was so widely recognized, but it certainly does seem to be the case from my experience. However, I personally know...

Most of my coworkers are married with their spouse working also. Or single, living with roomates to save costs. Or teenagers living at home for free. Only one person in my department lives alone and upports herself with no help. She's the manager.

The courtesy clerks are all teenagers except one lady who was retired but wanted to be out doing something. She just works 4 hours a day.

Most of the checkers are married with working spouse or single with roomates. Several of them have a second job. And most of them only get 15-25 hours, even those with years of seniority. Very few actually get more than 30 hours on a regular basis.

My rent is the same, my utilities are up. They used to be only $50-60 a month. Now they are between $100 and $140. Gas and electricty are way up right now.

Most of my costs are old bills that I am paying off. Steady, not up or down, though most of them will be finished next year, so eventually those will be gone.

I can't think of anything that has gone down, except a little bit of food costs because Iam trying to take my own lunch to work, rather than buying.

Rent is the same, utilities are up. My health costs are up (copay, weekly payment, prescription, and especially the emergency bill I had). I've had a few vet emergencies this past year (my pets are aging, so they are into the higher cost time of their lives).

The only things I have seen go down are because I cut back on what I was buying. I haven't seen any prices actually go down.
