Went to Whole Foods today, just pick up a few things, right? Walk around. Ha. Ron says there's a $50 cover charge at that place, sorta like a 2 drink minimum.
The leeks looked great, but I didn't buy any because I'm not making the potato leek soup until next week. I'll go back, gee, it's maybe 15 minutes away, I hope I can make the journey. (smile)
Anyway, got some lunch, pepper steak, some noodles, vegetable rolls. I was not thrilled that there was no lobster bisque to be had, but that's life. Scored the last piece of cornbread, anyway.
Wegman's was Leeks ... sortaChris, I have been bemoaning that the Asians-Latin "Global Market" in Manbuttas, VA, over the last year has raised their prices on produce close to 100%, if not more, 80% of...
I've never had lemon marmalade, is that not a thing? They only had lemon-lime. Got some chocolate, really nothing much else. I did say I wanted to see about triple creme brie, but the cheese guy had to go off wherever it is they go and I got to look over the choices without someone wanting to help me. Saw some kind of triple creme cheese, not brie, and it was over $37 a pound. Uh, never mind. (laugh) Picked up some nice gouda.
So, wandered around by the fish department. Dinner's already planned, so I didn't want to buy any, but I will next week for sure. This is because this week is, as the commercial says, Beef, It's what's for dinner. Last night, big old rib roast, plenty of leftovers. Tonight, beef tenderloin. Friday, the now infamous sauerbraten, will be plenty of leftovers of that as well.
Unplanned, it just sort of happened that way. But, here's the good part (for me). What do I see, a soup station by the fish counter. Could they? Would they? have lobster bisque??? Score!! That was my lunch, it was so good. And lobstery.
Another $70 trip to Whole Paycheck.
