what to mix with spinach 7871This is a fabulous side that I've posted here before: { Exported from MasterCook Mac } Gateau de Crepes aux Epinards Recipe By: posted again by Barb Schaller to r.f.cooking, 10-20-05 Serving...
That depends very heavily on the mead you get, how its made, what sort of honey is used, etc. It's like asking is wine a strong flavour? Depends on the wine! In general it's fairly sweet, as you would expect, although some people do make dryer versions. I like the very sweet ones, but that's personal taste. I'm also fond of many of the spiced ones with things like cinnamon & cloves, etc (and mulled mead, made like mulled wine but you don't usually need to add any sugar is very nice), but generally less fond of the fruity ones, although it does depend somewhat on the fruit in questions.
In the UK Lindisfarne do a fairly dry, winey mead which I'm not terribly fond of, but I know plenty of people who love it. Lurgashall do a somehwhat sweeter one which is very nice, and a spiced liquor version (called Old Jenny, I think?) which is yummy, but everyone's favourite is Moniack, which is very sweet, and very tastey. But there are plenty of others, too.
I highly recommend you give it a try, though - just remmeber if you don't like the first one you try it's worth experimenting with others....
