I don't think a day pbuttes I don't use my microwave for something, mostly reheating, but reheating small quanbreasties in their storage container sure beats messing up a pot on the stove... and how else can one reheat a half cup of coffee, or even a few ounces of plain water for a recipe. I also freeze a lot of my veggies, besides those I buy frozen, the microwave is the only way I cook frozen veggies. I also find the microwave invaluable for last minute defrosting, great for melting cheese on toast too... and I don't always want that lonely slice of LO pizza ice cold from the fridge. Maybe you need to make a concerted effort to use your microwave more... at least you're not one of those addle brained stups who's ascared of microwaves.

I don't do grilled cheese the usual way anymore... too much fat from frying in butter and the inside face of the bread is raw... plus I have a pan to clean. Instead I make plain toast in my bread toaster, then top each with a slice of cheese and pop em in the nuker for a half minute... voila... open faced grilled cheeze without all the fuss or calories, perfect! Seeded rye toast spread with a bit of mustard and topped with ham then swiss is a favorite, 'specially with a pickle and a beer.

Don't think I'd get rid of that microwave oven so quick I were you... and like you said, you don't have a use for that space.

Sheldon
