My beef about coffee...and tea 107cathy Um... coffee is not mocha flavoured. You are mistaking mocha lattes or something like that for *coffee*. I suppose this a Starbucks phenomenon. But do you take lemon in your...
Been a hot tea drinker all my life. Can't stand the taste of coffee (in fact, I strongly dislike the taste of anything mocha flavored). Most restaurants I just stick to water, it's simpler. But I do like hot tea with breakfast, and I have a group of friends who've been meeting for Sunday "brunch" (breakfast, really) at the same local family-owned coffee-shop for about the past 20 years. Eventually I got them trained so they'd bring me two of those little metal serving pots to start with. That was enough for 2 cups of tea, which allowed me enough time to badger them for hot water refills (that ALWAYS too at least two reminders). Finally I got tired of the whole hbuttle and just started to bring my own tea.
I brew up a pot of teaat home, get it just the way I like it, pour it into a thermos carafe, and bring it with me to the restaurant (now, I wouldn't do this anywhere else, but we've been patronizing this place for nearly 20 years, our group ranges anywhere from 6 to 12 people every Sunday and we're VERY generous tippers - 30% on average). This way I have my tea exactly the way I like it, it stays astonishingly hot and I never have to worry about a refill. All they have to do is bring me a cup.
My biggest problem now is keeping the busboy from refilling my cup
