Of course, the "real" southerners will disagree with me...I'm simply another damnyankee who has managed to acquire a southern address. I moved down here Saturday, spent yesterday trying to get settled (and as a smoker moving into a non-smoking house, "getting settled" involves washing every single piece of clothing I own before putting it away. My mother is a saint, but she's a saint with severe allergies.)
The lake is beautiful. There are two very cranky herons who live on it - we're not sure why they're cranky because I think it's too late in the year for them to be nesting - but you can hear them scolding someone or something. Then again, maybe the geese are upsetting them. We went out for a boatride Saturday night and saw lots of ducks, some with baby duckies...the herons...geese...I've been dive-bombed by humingbirds while sitting on the deck. It's just...beautiful.
Now, keep your fingers crossed that I can get into my new doctor and find out exactly what's wrong with me (tests are now inconclusive for autoimmune, but I'm still chicken-foot yellow) and then that I can quickly find a job!
