OT: It's Raining! 2011

I haven't as yet, since we seem to continue changing the plan. I do know for sure that it will have a peninsula with a breakfast bar. There will be a dozen or so top level drawers with cabinets underneath, and a cabinet-style floor to ceiling pantry. Some upper cabinets will have glbutt panel doors. Appliances will be standard, probably white, smoothtop range, side-by-side fridge, dishwasher, and deep double bowl thick composition sink. Cabinets are natural birch and countertops are a solid-core laminate. This won't be a luxury kitchen by any means, but it has enough space and a good traffic and work flow. We've been in a rental with a tiny kitchen for two years, so this will be a refreshing change.

Interesting. We "don't get tornadoes" here in Oz, but when I was living briefly in Brisbane some decades ago I thought I heard a train bearing down on the house one arvo. Looked out...

That is amazing! We spent several week-long vacations on Mackinaw Island. I would love to go back. My favorite stay was at the Lake View Hotel, the oldest hotel on the island. It was like going back in time.

Yes, I'm afraid it will be a lifelong effort but, as you say, worthwhile. My doctor says I will probably need no medication by the time I reach my goal weight, and will be able to control it by diet alone. I'm looking forward to that prospect. My BG readings are perfect now with only 1 glyburide a day.
