Well, I'm sure I'm paying for it with my cable subscription... there's no such thing as "free". But it is nice not to have to be bothered with maintaining a subscription.
But on the negative side I had previously paid for five years of TV Guide before I moved (a special offer, I think it was like $55), so for the past three years I've been receiving two copies... and I tried calling to stop my paid subscription and get a refund but they give no refund, in fact they wouldn't even stop the mailing, they said just wait for it to run out... fortunately my personal subscription expired about a month ago. So now I just get the free copy through the cable company, but no guarantee they won't stop that offer at any time as it began as a promotional bonus. But no matter, I mostly check progtrams with the digital menu now and so don't think at this time I would buy a subscription. However I wish TV Guide would stop mailing me "This Is Your Last Chance" subscription renewal offers... I get a "Last Chance" mailing at least once a week.
