Meatloaf en croute 978
Andy Katz I have seen many versions of a 'meat loaf' in pastry but can not find a specific recipe for beef. I have a number of...

The tree is a live oak. I've never seen them up north, so I'd guess they can't take your cold winters. Like I said to Kathy, it doesn't drop its leaves in the fall. The pictures I posted are actually from early spring 03 before the pecan trees had leafed out. You can see parts of them in the fringes of the pictures and out back. I took the pictures while I was negotiating the sale. You can see the for sale sign in one shot, and that red Lexus ain't mine.

The house and the architect's office (now my studio) sit on three standard city lots. Like I said if this place was in Dallas or on one of the coasts, there's no way we could afford it. Cow Hill is cheap, but there are reasons for that.

The architect, who designed and built it in '52 for his family, selected the color scheme. The red is a slightly muted complement to a moss-green stain he put on the concrete walks and the porch floor. I think of it as an "American Bauhaus" scheme because of something a really smart sculptor said to me long ago about Shaker architecture.

The studio building is blond brick, more 60s looking.

Thanks.
