I think just because we loved to argue back and forth. It was fun for us both, and he could well afford the check AND additional tip. At the time I always tipped 20%. I have to admit; I'm a large tipper (with really good service) AND I was plowed. 3 martinis and I don't know how much wine I drank. I also had a prized snifter of Grand Marnier (the 150 year old stuff). I was pretty toasted. Actually the party was a blast. The food was great and we all had a great time.

That was pretty much the way our relationship went. The 2 of us got into stubborn! I printed out a map of how to get to this fried chicken place called Romine's (excellent chicken)from Mapquest. There were 6 of us in his car and he refused map directions. We got there okay. On the way back we were inundated with offers from people forced to live on the street. Looked over and approached. It was pretty creepy a couple of times. Although I don't think anyone wants to carjack a Lincoln. He did an apology on that one ;) I adored the man and it was a blast spending his money.
