What is it about liberals that makes it so difficult for them to engage in political debate without having temper tantrums and hurling childish insults? I suspect it's the same stunted cognitive development that causes them to be liberals in the first place.

I've noticed that a huge proportion of liberals' counterarguments boil down to "Yer stupid!" And right out of the gate, too; they often don't even wait to be insulted first, so that they could at least claim the moral high ground in that respect.

Miller's Law: "As an online political debate between a liberal and a conservative grows longer, the probability that the liberal will stoop to insult approaches one." This gives them the benefit of the doubt and buttumes they don't become insulting right off the bat, of course.

Anyway, you people would have a hell of a lot more credibility in the arena of public debate if you'd try to grow beyond the childish, ad hominem attacks and rebut your opponents on the merit of what they have to say, and only on the basis of what they have to say.

Why? I've heard all the arguments about why it's the result of misguided and wrongheaded policy, but I'm not sure I understand what makes it "anti-American."

What makes you think you know so well what's going on in Bush's head that you can state with such certainty that he invaded Iraq because Saddam "dissed his daddy?"

How long should it take to find bin Laden? If you're one with the TRVTH, you should have no objection to providing a specific number, and backing it up with a sound and solid reason.

As for Iraq not being Afghanistan, where do you think the terrorists would've been most likely to go for refuge, once Afghanistan was denied to them? Saddam had good reason to want to strike back at the U.S. after we'd humiliated him in '91, or at least, to offer safe harbor and support to others who would. And even apart from that, we wanted him out, anyway.

And what about the fact that he was brutalizing and terrifying and even killing his own people? Given that you liberals like to fancy yourselves the faction of compbuttion and human rights, I'd have thought you'd've jumped for joy when we deposed Saddam. But evid- ently your hatred of George W. Bush is a lot stronger than your compbuttion for the oppressed. Whatever else can be said of this era in American history, let it be acknowledged that the Left has been maneuvered into showing its true (and hypocritical) colors.
