The pizzas came from a friend of my hubby's. I spent a bit of time with him on the phone helping him with some computer issues, so he sent me the pizzas as a "thank you."
That's who I figured it was, but it's also the same week as our wedding anniversary, so I had a couple other suspects I had to weed out of the equation before I thanked the wrong person, which could have been awkward. And then he called and left a message on the machine, so there wasn't any question.
I don't know why they didn't say who the order was from; it might have been an error on their part, or he might not have thought of it when he ordered. He probably planned on calling anyway.
We had the first pizza last night. Pan pizza isn't my favorite, but it was good, and a darned thoughtful gesture on his part.
If something arrived on my doorstep and I absolutely couldn't think of anyone who could have sent it, I would have been a bit suspicious. But in this case, it was more a matter of which one it was. And considering how pricey it is to send food next-day air from there to here (I know, I've done it), it just didn't make sense that it was a practical joke or a random stranger.
