Polski, Polski! Look What I Found

The Hub drove by a new deli near his office last week and we got over there today. It is a Polish deli. It is filled with all sorts of Polish grocery items, shelf and refrigerated as well as a very well stocked deli section with home made pierogies (ooo, boy, pork filled!), sausages of all sorts, pates, cheeses, hams, pork dishes, bacon, soups, salads, breads.

I got a large jar of herring rollmops. that I will put into sour cream. It is getting harder and harder to find herring in sour cream that is not overly sweetened and I have high hopes for this. I got two jars of grated horseradish, too. The jams on the shelves looked nice and are made with sugar, not corn syrup, but I still have a load of you-know-who's jams to go through before I entertaitn the thought of bringing more into the house. I also got a smoked trout, some kielbasa, pate, bacon and a few other things..

The most interesting thing about it all is that they smoke all their own meats (not the trout, that was vac-packed). We walked out with a big bag of various goodies and I will report on them after we've eaten them over the next couple of days...that is, if I don't explode

Good Stuff for the Weekend
We're busy, like everybody else in the world. :) We are not going to sit down together...

I don't speak Polish, except for an very extensive list of curse words, and there was little English spoken there, so a there were a lot of items I was I not exactly positive in identifying, but I had a heckuva time in there. I'll be back.

The place smelled so good, it should be bottled as food perfume.
