Premium $$ lunch meat 1907

I agree! Thing is this: first time I noticed, it was a roughly $2.50 cent meat item, must have been ground beef, how many times do you find meat in the case for that small an amount? I only noticed when I got home and scanned the receipt because, while I don't run a tally while I'm shopping, I generally have an idea what I spent. Hmm, more than I thought, that is why I checked.

Saw an item for $25, now how often do you spent that much on an item in the supermarket without knowing? Me, hardly ever. Heh, took back the receipt, said I was charged $25 for blah blah blah and the customer service guy gave me this, who are you kidding, lady, look. Let's just say that didn't make me happy. He saw my, don't f*** with me, look. (laugh)

Anyway, a week later or so, I was with Ron, I was putting stuff on the belt and it was being checked through, Ron exclaimed, Hey! it happened again! (laugh) The cashier was being trained, there was a manager type watching over her shoulder, they both jumped out of their skin.

This time, a $7.50 meat item. Now, tell me you wouldn't notice that. $75 for one meat item? Unlikely. That would jack up your bill to a noticable (what the heck did I buy??) level, no?

Turns out they weren't keying in the leading zero on the meat number, thus shifting over the whole deal to create this mbuttively expensive meat, other people must have complained. I complained to the corporate website, thinking it was a chainwide problem, not a store problem, they reported it to the manager of my particular store. Ouch.

Oh well, they fixed it. Don't ask me why they weren't scanning bar codes, I do not know.
