REC: Chocolate Ginger Lychees

Speaking of Salmon dinner tonight
SD I've never heard of that oil -- thanks for the tip! However, given my, um...

Very yummy. The lychees look a lot like very pale penis tips, so I felt a little weird stuffing ginger inside of them, but it was all worth it. This is a great dessert.

Chocolate Ginger Lychees

Recipe By :Carol Peterson (Damsel) Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories :

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 15 ounce cans lychees 2 ounces crystallized ginger -- or candied cherries 8 ounces semisweet chocolate 1/3 bar paraffin wax

Drain lychees. Place round side up on several layers of paper towels. Let stand until dry, about one hour.

Cut ginger into slivers or tiny pieces. Carefully stuff the ginger inside the cavities of the lychees.

Combine chocolate and wax in a small saucepan or in top of a double boiler over boiling water. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly. When chocolate is completely melted, remove from heat and cool slightly.

Dip each stuffed lychee in the melted chocolate, being sure to coat completely. Carefully lift the lychees out of the chocolate and place, round side up, on waxed paper. Refrigerate until cold. Transfer into bonbon cups for serving. Cuisine: "Chinese" Source: "Adapted from the Chinese Cooking Clbutt Cookbook" Yield: "3 dozen" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
