Our leash laws are strictly enforced as are the scoop laws. If your dog is caught off your property that is grounds for euthansia for the dog, no questions asked :( Again, not my rules but what we have to live with. Cats are another matter. They are simply watered in most cases as they tend to be ferral. And animal control condones this so those judging my atbreastude might change theirs if they lived where I do.
The problem as I see it here is neighbours have taken to using buckshot or pellet guns. Now that wouldn't work for me for a lot of reasons. Many just trap the animal and because we live on the water water them. Believe me if I catch this rabbit its fate will be much more humane even if it does end up in the stew pot.
Nope, more because there really isn't a lot to do here so the young ones engage in a lot of drinking and since they put in a local liquor store the problem has worsened. If they aren't drunk by 10 am there is a serious problem ;) The standard joke here is when the cops pull you over you have to ask them to hold your beer. It is a touristy, no one here during the winter but booming in the summer sort of. Just about just would rather thery weren't on the road when I'm driving.
Rabbits are dumb! 2239L. If that chicken were damaging your garden or had the possibilty of disease or since you have a kid, crapping all over your yard, would you just leave...
BTW, this is how big of a water community it is. We went to look at a 30' cabin cruiser last night. DH has basically decided we will end up buying it. It will replace our pleasure boat. The downside is more money and higher operational costs as well as no water skiing. The upside is we can go further into the lakes meaning better fishing and it essentially is a party boat. The water really plays a big part in our lives here as does farming.
