I've yet to try my new Cuisinart ice cream maker - waiting to find a decent cookbook for ice cream. I've checked them all out at various libraries, looked in book stores, etc. Yesterday, I saw one at Barnes & Noble I really liked, glad I didn't buy it at full price; there it was at BJ's for a few dollars less. But the ice cream recipes and pictures really look good.
Also someone here on this ng said something about getting good milk at TJ's versus other heavy whipping cream-type milk (that i usually buy at Costco (Land o' Lakes Brand). But when I asked the manager of the milk-cheese department at TJ's in Darient, CT, he said that there was nothing special about their milk, just plain milk and cream that you'd find anywhere else. He seemed not to be impressed with my request.
The ice cream book is Williams-Sonoma Collection: Ice Cream (Williams Sonoma Collection) (Hardcover) at but does not have the same cover I have on mine -- and mine is a Simon Schuster publication, don't know if it is the same.

Ping: Limey - whose son #2 lives in Winchester. Today I googled 'Borders' and there is a Borders coming to Winchester. Winchester has grown so much in just the 13 years I've been here (in Shenandoah County), and I said I thought the town would have become more of a small city when it got a book store better than "books a million."
